LEAST favorite beauty products in 2015

Note: I have dry to normal, sensitive skin with a slight tendency of pimples/acne around my jaw area and sometimes on my cheeks and forehead. Dry areas usually on my cheeks.

Tony Moly Bcdation & All Master - If you have dry skin and not so good skin care routine it can be patchy when you applied it on your face. Best mode of application: Sponge/puff/beauty blender

Tony Moly Egg Pore Steam Balm (Blackhead) & Cooling Pack-

Steam Balm: doesn't really do anything for my face I don't notice any difference before and after use.

Cooling Pack- after using the steam balm which makes my nose feels quite raw after using this it helped cool it down a bit,my face feels tight afterwards but other than that I don't feel any noticeable difference.

But I'd still give them another shot I feel it would be such a waste if I didn't get to use/finish a product and so I could also get my money's worth haha

Nature Republic Real Nature Rose Mask Sheet- quite sticky after use

Rimmel Provocalips 730 make your move- nice natural looking color color but can be a drying after a couple of hours use my lips would crack so sad!no amount of balm or gloss can fix it the only remedy would be to take it off and apply a moisturizing lip product afterwards.

Wet n Wild Lipsticks - lots of different colors to choose from, nice color payoff, very affordable!cheap plastic packaging I don't like the chemically taste -_-

OKAY beauty products I used in 2015 Wrap up

Okay products: I tend to use these once in a while...they're pretty good

Note: I have dry to normal, sensitive skin with a slight tendency of pimples/acne around my jaw area and sometimes on my cheeks and forehead. Dry areas usually on my cheeks.

Etude House Wonder Pore - I like it, lots of product for a very affordable price. What I didn't like was the alcohol content in it for it can be a little bit drying...it doesn't bother me as much my mom who has extremely dry and sensitive skin she told me it stings a lil bit but not too irritating does its job balancing the skin ph I guess. I does clean my pores a bit more it gets some of the dirt my cleansers miss.A little tight and clean feeling afterwards.

Thin absorbent paper but I feel like it's just like any other products out there what stood out for me of course is the really cute plastic packaging, very travel friendly and it's nice since it has a mirror despite its size. I use this sparingly since there's only 50 pcs.

Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner

I actually owned a bunch of colors haha I think I like Poison Red the most I gravitate towards red type of product these days...The color payoff is amazing!soft creamy texture, product price = affordable! pretty neat and nice to have. Very handy! It won't budge once you applied it but whenever I have some mistake applying it creating a wing or whatever my tony moly latex free sponge seems to take care of it but yeah it's waterproof.

At first I thought it was a retractable kind of eyeliner but no! you have to use a sharpener which I don't really like and I'm bad at it! but you know mayhaps I need to practice my sharpening skills a little bit more haha I think that's the only thing I don't like about this product for it not being in retractable form and it's quite easy to break once you sharpen it since the product is soft.

Jordana easyliner for eyes retractable pencil &  lips retractable pencil

very affordable and good for the price!soft but not too soft for it to break easily and glides on smoothly! I like to smudge it a bit it creates a very nice smoky look as for my lips it makes my lip products last a little bit longer and I can actually use it on its own. I sometimes used these products since most of the time I almost always in a hurry. I like to play around it as well. I don't really have anything bad to say about this product.

2015 overall concert experience

Sam Smith did such a  Divine performance 5 out of 5 stars! venue location (Miami American Airlines Arena) 2.5 for safety concerns, parking around $20 on designated lots still depends where you park you can parallel park on the streets at your own risk. Walking distance 10-15 minutes but inside the arena itself is 4 out of 5 stars it's also the same for Ed sheeran even with just him alone he is electrifying! amazing mash ups and combos! for his performance 5 out of 5 stars (3hrs whoa!) both of them are so worth it!

Incubus x Deftones

Parking: Free!
Tampa Amphitheatre is pretty safe and spacious. Cons would have to be since it rained last night before this the lawn area was muddy so yeah pretty much standing good thing I brought with me a clear plastic bag and a sarong (towel) to cover up the ground and there are a lot of people who smokes.

nice light show
I love Incubus more than Deftones (also since I only know and like few of their songs) and the vocals, song lyrics isn't as good compare to Incubus at least also since I've been following Incubus for years now like their songs, career, discography and all that I like their previous albums than this new one but it's a nice comeback and I'm glad I finally got a chance to go to this gig since I've been waiting for ages for this opportunity to come by his vocals is pretty much spot on and so much better live! overall 4 out of 5 stars for Incubus as for Deftones 2.5 out of 5 stars overall I had a pretty good time!

Kelly Clarkson got cancelled due to throat issues so I got a refund.

Van Halen I got sick that day also it's so hot and humid outside ugh -_-

Last but not the least Taylor Swift 1989 World Tour, Halloween Night it was epic! I love how they gave all concert goers this bracelet that goes in sync with the music and it lights up so beautifully! no flashlight moment ever again haha I love it I feel like I went to those japanese/korean concerts you know with the light bling and it's nice as each light signifies each person 55,000 strong! whoa!

since it's halloween a lot of people are wearing costumes and some made fansigns that are awesomely decorated with led light/christmas light/fairylight whatever you'd like to call it. The venue location (Tampa,Raymond James Stadium) is safe there are a lot of cops on the street redirecting traffic and all that.General Parking $25.Walking distance 10-20 minutes.Locating and going to your designated seat is confusing! and you have to go down the 2nd floor to go around the other side and it feels like forever going down the ramp! I hope there are 2 escalators and elevators for guest to use for easy access. But the area is wide so a stampede won't really happen unless there is real threat/panic.Overall Perfomance 5 out 5 stars! definitely a night to remember!

If you haven't already and you're interested in Skincare please read my Best of Beauty 2015  FAVORITES & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED : SKINCARE ok Next up is Make up!

These are the products I use almost everyday in 2015 with slight variations to my routine from time to time so I can rotate and use them all.

Note: I have dry to normal, sensitive skin with a slight tendency of pimples/acne around my jaw area and sometimes on my cheeks and forehead. Dry areas usually on my cheeks. Some of the products here I got reviews on my blog(s) some don't and I'd would some mini reviews beside it but please feel free to click the product links for more info/where you can buy them etc.

Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse - my go to product! very, nice and easy to use, Affordable as well. Compact and travel friendly. I use this whenever I don't have time to blend my own mix of foundation haha

NYX Cosmetics Concealer Wand- Wonderful product! First repurchased concealer!

After I used up all my Nyx I tried and love Aritaum Full Cover Stick Concealer (Light Beige)

soft and creamy, kinda like maybelline stick but this one got a brush on the other end which is nice. It covers my blemishes, buildable coverage, quite long lasting and affordable!

TONY MOLY Latex Free Moisture Puff- kinda like a beauty blender but flat. This is the sponge I use to blend my foundation and concealer I use this product so many times it has a slight tear already but doesn't disintegrate. It Blends my makeup evenly and perfectly!

Now on with the lip products I got a little obsess with them lately I bought quite a lot and started to slowly use them one by one xD

Nature Republic Real Gel Tint

Real Gel Tint- I actually gave this to my mom she loves the color,it's moisturizing too although it doesn't really last very long but gives off a nice natural healthy stain on the lips.

TONY MOLY Tony Tint & Delight Tint Crayon- beautiful red color although it doesn't really last very long, smells and taste like candy (I don't recommend eating/drinking it though haha :))

Coreana Essence Lip Collection (2 Wine Burgundy) - Great dusty rose color, first time I used this kind of lipstick/lip stain, smells like perfume. A little bit goes a long way although if you put too much like I did the first time you'll see this product on your teeth and definitely taste the perfume which was off putting ugh -_- but overall I love the color pay off it stays on for 6 hours or so and leaves a nice rosy lip stain and the packaging looks so high end and classy!

Best of Beauty 2015 | FAVORITES & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | SKINCARE

Hey guys! how's it goin? I hope you're having a great day! today I'm going to share with you my favorite beauty products I tried this year and yes I did tried a lot! stepped out my comfort zone a little bit and explore the beauty world haha

These are the products I use almost everyday in 2015 with slight variations to my routine from time to time so I can rotate and use them all. What I also learned this year is that if you have a good skincare routine = more beautiful you and less makeup

SKINCARE

All the products I used in my How I cleanse my face post:

-Ponds & Simple Facial Wipes- gentle, non irritating facial towelletes

-Leven Rose Jojoba Oil- great cleansing oil, melts my makeup off but not a good if used alone as a face moisturizer it breaks me out and it can last for 3 years! isn't that amazing!?

-Missha Cleansing Citron Foam- refreshing citrus cleansing foam I mostly use during the day

Now you might be thinking Oh man that's a lot of product! towelletes then why use jojoba oil then a foam? whoa! The thing about double cleansing is that it doesn't really dry out your skin in fact you're taking out all the gunk/ dirt out of your face and prep your skin other skincare needs like essence, face lotion, emulsion, serum, moisturizer and eye cream it might all sound foreign at first this type of concept but it's truly very effective! please watch this video for more information.

Moving on...This product I used at night

-St. Ives Green Tea Scrub- gently exfoliates, nice matcha & salicylic acne medication smell mix, prevents acne, somewhat helps get rid of my blackheads

-Facial Brush - super soft like bunny soft  it helps my foam cleansers thoroughly clean my face and very affordable too!

Only lasts for 9 months after opening :0
Here's my recent December Favorite it's non other than : Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask

First time use picture what a face! haha
I can't really move my face as this clay mousse hardens

Seriously this stuff is amazing! My skin felt soft, smooth and not dry at all after I used this.It definitely helped get rid of my blackheads and there's something extremely satisfying in scrapping those lil buggers out haha!

TONYMOLY products:

-Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream-smells like green apples, gently exfoliates and moisturizes my skin.

-Caviar Face Mask Sheet, highly moisturizing!smells clean and great! not eww at all haha! I like the cotton mask it fits my face nicely. (sorry no picture ^_^v)

Skinfood Black Sugar Wash off  (Strawberry)- At first I love the strawberry smell outside the packaging but when I applied and used this I didn't really like it in the beginning it's more like a medicine strawberry like scent and felt too harsh. My skin felt quite raw afterwards. For my second attempt I diluted it with some water and applied it on wet skin that felt so much better, the smell doesn't bother me as much and this is actually nice afterwards my skin felt so soft, smooth and moisturized!

Nivea Creme- My HOLY GRAIL Moisturizer! it's really good during fall and winter time very hydrating whether you use it by day or night you'll look so awesome! too oily for summer use tho...

Nature Republic 92% Aloe Soothing Gel

Aloe Gel- I stock up on this product although I didn't really liked it at first on my face when it dries the product rubs off so whenever that happens and before that happens I know I need to exfoliate so for the most part on my first tub I used it on my body I felt very clean and refreshed.During the fall season that's when it finally grew on me to give it a go again on my face been using this everyday ever since haha I mostly use at home though..maybe it's the weather since it's much cooler and I have a good skincare routine now the product doesn't rub off unlike before. It has a cooling effect when you applied it on and oh it has some alcohol in it just in case your sensitive to that kind of stuff.

-All day makeup fixer, moisturizing, refreshing, makes my makeup last a little bit longer and natural finish. I use this as my moisturizing spray as well even without makeup.

Innisfree Aloe Revital Skin Mist, moisturizing aloe face mist I use this sometimes hand in hand with my aloe soothing gel and mostly use this spray to my tony moly latex free moisture puff to blend my makeup.

It's Skin mini bebe mist (apple), moisturizing, smells like apples, refreshing and can also be used as a body mist. It's so cute and tiny pretty convenient and travel friendly!

I highly recommend these products!definitely worth your money I hope you give it a shot ^_^

Merry Christmas!

How's it going? I hope you're having a wonderful time and enjoying this glorious holiday season! cheers! ^_^

Monday, December 21, 2015

Let's talk about Christmas: Traditions and Cultural things comparison and more!

Can you feel it? can you smell the difference in the air?
As I get older there are times I don't feel the Christmas feeling you know?
I'm only reminded sometimes by the ads and news on television
In the Philippines some news program ends with the 100 days countdown

anyway, ever since living in North America
I can feel the coldness in the air, smell the pine and see some trees changing leaves/color.
the real deal Christmas trees on sale all over (not the plastic ones although some stores still sell them but the legit Christmas trees from a farm for real!)
I still have to convince my parents to buy a real tree or get a potted one.
but maybe some day especially when there are kids all over the house that would be fun
although the upkeep they say is quite a maintenance.

Christmas decors:

In the Philippines people start decorating their house pretty early like October
some in the first week of November after all saints and souls day with different colors of christmas lights,Parol and plastic christmas trees with all sorts of ornaments.
Parol

Children singing carols at night and then you give them some money in exchange for their musical talents. And usually around December 16 there would be a mass at 4 am or evening time the 1st day you make a wish til Christmas (for 9 days straight you should go to church) and some say it would come true. I'm always one day short back then due to school but I still say my wish and prayers. Sometimes you'll see lots of people asking for alms most of them came from the countryside really far away and would make a journey towards Manila or any city to ask for spare change this is after all the season of giving most often than not people would give them money or food they usually standby outside the church some say people are more giving especially after mass haha! There would also be a lot of christmas parties at school, work, reunion etc.

bibingka top with fresh coconut

There would be a lot of vendors selling all sorts of rice cakes or anything warm since it's quite cold at dawn and at night. I miss eating Puto bumbong the most!

puto bumbong with fresh coconut and brown sugar (although sometimes people put a different special type of sugar I dunno what it is nor how to describe it it just taste different from the regular one)

In the States usually after Thanksgiving people start decorating  (still depends what culture you're following) but mostly after thanksgiving. There would be tons of places going on sale, clearance, malls and outlet stores filled with people. All seems bright and cheery! October is the time of the month people would actually start buying early christmas presents and some stores offer a lay away program(installment payment) and gift receipts available so in case that person doesn't like your gift they could exchange them for cash or whatever.Mass on the 24th and 25th offered in different times so as to avoid traffic and all that. Minimal Christmas Party at work usually 1-2 hours or so then back to the regular schedule (depends where you work and where you are) unlike in the Philippines when it's a party it's almost like the whole day haha. As for the food we usually eat filipino food but in small servings/courses unlike in the Philippines wherein the entire clan is present haha so here mostly salad, spaghetti, meat and dessert (fruit salad/cake) that's it! and gift giving of course!

How about you? what are your christmas plans and how do you celebrate Christmas? I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! enjoy the holidays!

A Werewolf Boy | Movie Review

Source: Imbd

Summoned by an unexpected phone call, an elderly woman visits the country cottage she lived in as a child. Memories of an orphan boy she knew 47 years ago come flooding back to her.

Duration: 122 minutes
Category: Fantasy,Romance
Release date: Oct 31, 2012 (Republic of Korea)
Director: Jo Sung-hee
Awards: PaekSang Arts Award for Best New Film Director
Stars: Joong-ki Song, Bo-yeong Park, Yeong-ran Lee |See full cast and crew »

My Thoughts:

Very cute and heart warming story!

It's kinda like beauty and the beast but without the glamour, curse, big  castle and talking appliances. I wonder what happened to the previous owner of the house and his research. It was pretty interesting to see how it's all experimental being a werewolf and not the typical I got scratched or infected by virus/curse. I like the twist of this story in the end also the character development I don't like Park Bo-Yeong's character at first she seems spoiled and has a rotten attitude. Joong-ki as the werewolf boy did an amazing job acting like a wild beast,a kid raised by wolves kinda thing. Both of them looks so young here even though I think they're in their 20s wow! I feel sad yet happy in the end. Overall 4 out of 5 stars! I never thought I'd like this storyline as much but it was bittersweet and made me tear up a couple of times T_T

You're a bit complicated

Assassination Classroom Live Action (2015) | Movie Review

Information Source: Imbd
Assassination Classroom (2015)
"Ansatsu kyôshitsu" (original title)
110 min | Adventure | 21 March 2015 (Japan)

When an octopus-like alien destroys part of the moon, Nagisa Shiota and the rest of the students of E Class of Kunugigaoka Junior High School are given the task to kill him by the government after he decides to act as teacher for their class otherwise he will destroy the Earth once the school year is over.- Written by James

Director: Eiichirô Hasumi
Writers: Yûsei Matsui (manga), Tatsuya Kanazawa(screenplay)
Stars: Okuma Anmi, Wakana Aoi, Shôta Arai |See full cast and crew »

My thoughts:

I only read a few chapters of the manga way back and I think the storyline in this live action was quite faithful to it, lovely set of characters. I like the manga vibe sort of video editing and Korosensei looks real!

As always it's nice to see all the characters come to life in this movie with very fast, action paced introduction. In 110 minutes they managed to cover the first semester but I think there's more than that in the manga so I'll try to pick it up and read it later on...

Character Development...a little as days passes by class 3E are gaining more self confidence and acquiring new set of skills...I don't really want Korosensei to die I'd like him to be a hero and save the world than destroy it and punish evil doers haha he actually does a good job teaching the kids about all sort of things .Overall 4 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this and I'm glad they made it!

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez | Book Review

Information Souce: Goodreads
Love in the Time of Cholera

by Gabriel García Márquez, Edith Grossman (translator), Armando Duran(narrator)
From the Nobel Prize–winning author of One Hundred Years of Solitude comes a masterly evocation of an unrequited passion so strong that it binds two people's lives together for more than half a century.

In their youth, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza fall passionately in love. When Fermina eventually chooses to marry a wealthy, well-born doctor, Florentino is devastated, but he is a romantic. As he rises in his business career, he whiles away the years in 622 affairs—yet he reserves his heart for Fermina. Her husband dies at last, and Florentino purposefully attends the funeral. Fifty years, nine months, and four days after he first declared his love for Fermina, he does so again. (more)

Audiobook, unabridged

Original title : El amor en los tiempos del cólera

SettingColombia
literary awards: Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction (1988), Audie Award Finalist, Classic (2014)

My thoughts:

I like Armando Duran's voice his pronunciation was on point! I'm really grateful for audiobooks without it I don't think I can finish this book the story was so long it can be a bit tedious and the descriptions goes on and on and on kinda drags but I actually like this translation and story eventhough it has a lot of flowery descriptive words it made me imagine vividly each scenarios.

Oh cholera! you made me reminisce of my younger years haha

I hope there are more guys like Florentino patiently waiting and very passionate!...I miss the love letter days!

anyway...All we need is love! this book...all for the sake of love!

the ending was actually nice ^^

Overall 4 out of 5 stars!

Thoughts about the Fall Season

I like it when leaves changes into different colors.
I like the burgundy,cranberry-ish & dark lipsticks trend and layering pieces of clothing.

Since it's getting colder I feel like my skin is getting drier I'd like to try something new like follow a korean skincare routine I'm usually just the foam cleanser, exfoliate & face mask once in a while and then the moisturizer simple type of person haha! since I'm getting older I'd like to do something new like add more steps in my skincare routine instead of 2 or 3 steps everyday routine so yey! spice up my life haha!

So after watching a bunch of videos about skincare, products and reading online articles etc. I pondered about it some more but here are the basics watch the video below.

Lizzie Borden took an ax (2014) | Movie Review

Lizzie Borden Took an Ax (2014)
TV Movie | TV-14 | 87 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery | 25 January 2014 (USA)

The true story of Lizzie Borden, a young woman tried and acquitted in the 1892 murders of her father and stepmother.

Director: Nick Gomez

Writer: Stephen Kay

Stars: Christina Ricci, Clea DuVall, Gregg Henry |See full cast and crew »

My thoughts:

I watched it over at Netflix. To be honest I have no idea who she was until I read some online articles about her then the film. Her Alibi is truly strange yet her crime seems flawless and perfectly executed! although well she did hit her parents real hard so many times with an ax based on this movie I think she definitely needs a psyche consult I'm not sure if such thing exist way back in the day also a lie detector test.Since during her time a lady killer is unheard of some people find it absurd but I think it's possible that she did it her motive would be? hmm..well she clearly doesn't like her stepmother and disapproves/clash with her father from time to time. She wants to be free, got some anger issues, small petty theft and quite a rebel actually. The space in between crimes and where is at is truly suspicious even the way she acts. Anyway, Christina Ricci played her role really well she's quite convincing! Overall I'm not sure whether or not I should rate it haha since it was brutal! not much in depth  character background just the before and after the crime and trials..hmm 3.5 stars for this new version of the film as for the crime 4.5 out of 5 stars why? although it was messy near the end she was...well you have to find that out for yourself I don't want to give away everything haha!she's crazy I'd tell you that haha!

How I cleanse my face

Just to let you know I have dry to normal, sensitive skin with a slight tendency of pimples/acne around my jaw area and sometimes on my cheeks and forehead. Dry areas usually on my cheeks.

When I'm really sleepy, tired and lazy to take my makeup off I usually just use some Makeup Remover Towelettes these two are my favorite ones (Ponds and Simple) it doesn't irritate my face and it's very gentle, smooth and gets rid of all my makeup.I feel so clean and refreshed afterwards. I usually buy them at walmart I think they're much more affordable over there.

*Side note: this is my attempt to do a double cleanse routine*

Now if I'm really really up for it and if ever I have some waterproof makeup like mascara or eyeliners on I use Jojoba Oil as a cleansing oil it's very safe and effective for me to get rid of the makeup that's really hard to come off (even if I used a towelette in the first place) and then I wash my face with water then use a dry paper towel or simply just use a wet papertowel.
bought this at amazon

I mainly use this jojoba oil for cleansing although it has so many uses since it tends to break me out around my face if I use it as a moisturizer.

And then cleansing foam I have two at the moment to thoroughly cleanse my face!

Missha Citron Cleansing foam (day time)

This one I bought at koreadepart it has a nice citrus scent, refreshing but it can be a bit tight and drying afterwards.

St. Ives Green tea scrub (night time)

Clears blackheads and calms redness.
Oil-free salicylic acne medication.
100% natural exfoliants.
Sulfate free and paraben free.
Hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and non-comedogenic.

I think this is a new product they just released I'm not sure but it's a new product to me I bought mine at walmart but you can also purchase it from amazon. At first I only tried to use it on my nose to see if it will get rid of my blackheads, massage it in for a couple of minutes with my fingers then washed off with water... it somewhat helped..my blackheads are less visible,my nose a little bit clear and the next day the blackheads aren't as bad as before but they're not at all gone either but when I used my cleansing brush during my next attempt it definitely helped and made a whole lot of difference! my nose is much more cleaner, blackheads almost gone!

I also bought this one at amazon it's super soft, gentle on the skin and affordable too!

I think as an anti acne and exfoliating cleansing foam it works better since it does contain salicylic acne medication so I used it all over my face the following night.A little bit goes a long way,a bit grainy (mayhaps due to the green tea) it's also very gentle on the skin, after washing it off with water my skin felt soft and not dry I guess the 100% natural exfoliants works. The smell is actually very clean and fresh the matcha(green tea) plus the salicylic is quite a good match with each other.

Overall I highly recommend all these products!

March~Monthly Update

Hey Guys! I feel like so many cray things happened this month especially at work which I can't really talk about but just wowww! anywa...
